1) I see those indicators pretty much straight away. Little glowing
blobs of light, sometimes darker flecks.

2)Holding inner silence seems to accelerate process of dream imagery
coming up, and the “glowing hole“ (amber/purple pond) becomes visible
more easily in this state

3) Imagery seems to come up in different ways. Sometimes from a blob,
or amber pool. Other times just fades in to full vision, as if
another level to the darkness has not merged fully with vision behind
closed eyes. Also dreams start, but there is not so much visuals,
more the feeling of visuals (hard to explain). The visuals may be
dark, or hardly anything at all, but the feeling of the dream content
is there, as if you have done those things (e.g. walking down a
road/having a conversation). Other dream images start, where a
glowing indicator becomes something, like looking up at a hot air
balloon. Other times, suddenly a couple of butterflies flew across my
vision, still darker and not formed in colour properly. Or suddenly
I“m watching birds flying from left to right, and talking about it -
already in the dream and not knowing any different (that just a
moment ago I was observing darkness behind closed eyes) funny how
dreams set in so fast in this way, where we are totally oblivious.
Then something in me jumps, “ahhh! there“s a dream starting!“

4) I“ve started seeing the funny little bobbing thing I used to see a
lot when I was a child. turns out it“s one of those indicators that
starts to bob up and down really fast, with some sort of pattern or
image inside it. It bobs faster and faster until it fades off. I
discovered as a child, that just by thinking of the bobbing “blob“
(indicator), that this would make it appear.

5) I noticed the amber pool (glowing hole) starts to appear very
subtley. A small glow in the centre that wafts and waves in and out
of vision. Swirling and turning. It shys away from conscious waking
attention, so if you focus on it with a “wakeful observation“ it
fades away again. Seems important to keep a very laid back, relaxed
observer perspective (but knew this before from my own experiments).
To allow the amber pool to “proceed“, to grow bigger and come nearer,
one has to keep very relaxed, a fine line between drifting off to
sleep completely, whilst still keeping some conscious observation.

6) When pressing slightly harder, I noticed that“s when you see the
swirly lines which are probably the blood vessels. When I do that I
notice the glowing indicators become part of every line, as if they
originate from those lines.

7) I“ve noticed the visual field, behind closed eyes, has a circular
feel about it

8) Pulsating waves of colour, often going outwards. Colour often being subtle, more the feeling of movement

9) When just come out of dreaming there can be rotation of the field of vision, also the feeling of a change of perspective. As if was looking down on field of vision from above, and the this angle shifts very quickly to “eye level“ (as if having a birds eye view and then soaring downwards to ground level perspective)

10) The sparks and “dings“ (flicks) of light I see when awake, these happen when my eyes are shut too, and I think are connected with indicators, at least some of them are (I see colours around people/objects and sparks and balls of light when physically awake)

11) When just woken up/in between dreams I notice the darkness has become “alive“, it has become more fluid.

As for me I can also see that “alive darkness“ while sitting in the evenings in half-lightened room. Sometimes staying alone in my room, through the open door leading to the corridor it is possible to see that someting or somebody moves there. But if I glance at it- this movement stops. At day-time when I have inner silence I can see people“s, cars“ shadows that stretch after them.

I consider inner silence to be key-skill to many things.

I get those movements too, like someone moves past, but then no one“s there.

Also I see that dark stuff drag after people as they walk past, the shadows you speak of. I“m most intrigued as I“ve never actually spoken to anyone else who sees this. What do you think it is? I“v read about auras, and wonder if it“s seeing the part of aura that is closest to the body, I think it“s called etheric aura.

Yes, I feel the same about inner silence.

I am not sure that these shadows can be called auras, I don“t know. We“d better ask other participants or Ravenna about it.

i think you see some part of astral body.
astral trace may be.
but ... certain auto have too, for example :)
may be auto is live form :)
this effect i viewed in movement of auto only,
but human silver trace related to energetic or mental activity.
auras begin little futher out (3-4 cm), i viewed this effect in some dreams.
it is another kind, imho.

may be it is astral of passengers, may be it is streams on the streets, which telling Don Juan?
may be automobiles hold astral too, remember film about crazy auto attack :)
I see the “drag“ of dark stuff behind cars, but also from behind people walking past me too, do you see it from just people? Also do you see the bubble around birds in the sky?

You telling interesting things.
May be they are travel in their own bubble (as we are in the plane) to move between places (bubbles) of landing.
But I think it“s different from traces after cars, hands and people.

Yes, I see bubbles around birds. It“s like a haze, difficult to put a colour on it, but actually feels similar to the stuff I see drag behind people, in that i think that stuff is part of person“s energy field. I think the bubble around the bird is it“s energy field. sometimes it“s just a very light grey“ish colour, enough to see the bubble shape, other times it has a slight hue of colour, like a bit of pink. At the same time i“m viewing this, i usually see a couple of sparks of light flash around the bird. Usually gold or red.

we started a closed yahoo group for the purpose of different dreaming tasks, including the Ravenna tasks, which we are focusing on at the moment (although we are doing other things too). I can invite the others again to post reports here. And I can carry on reporting here too if you like. I stopped reporting because I didn“t think any of you were interested in hearing reports from earlier tasks.

while reading somebody“s reports we compare them with our own experience which is individual. Sometimes we discover the moments which we didn“t pay attention to or just omitted, considering them not very important.

thanks for the advice :-) Actually we“re all familiar with communicating in such a way. Have been participating in such small groups related to dreaming and also the warrior path (Castaneda) for a few years. So yes we understand the importance of working as a group. We may be new to Ravennas task, but are not new to working intimately as a group and certainly most of us are not new to dreaming. Personally I“ve been having lucid dreams (controlled dreams) and obes for 15 years, and other members are similar. Just thought I“d clarify this as it seems we may be seen as beginners. Which we are with the Ravenna tasks, but not everything :-)

Ok here are some extracts from my reports from October 16th:

I think the tenacity/stickiness of attention is when one“s consciousness is more
active (like when awake) as this seems to slow down the process of
images forming and the sleepy relaxed state seems to entice dream
images to come.

Hi everyone,

I was practicing gazing yesterday when I went for a walk. I ended up
gazing at one particular leaf (was some 50 metres away from the
tree). i just picked out a leaf that seemed prominant. and held my
attention on it, I wanted to clear my thoughts.

I focused on intending a sensation i“d noticed earlier that day, when
just working on clearing dialogue. the sensation involved some sort
of force inside myself. a sensation that pushed from the centre of my
awareness (felt positioned up at same level as visual field) and it
pushed outwards. (although now when i do it, i feel that sensation
throughout my body).

my intuition said, don“t let it be a forceful push, just let it push
out. so i did that, and it was the most strange sensation and it
helped keep inner silence. i don“t know what this sensation is, but i
think it might be the force of my will that i can feel. it feels
physical, it“s that real. and it seems to give a particular sensation
to my eyes. It feels powerful.

i did it last night before sleep (as am most intrigued and now want
to do it often, to explore it). i felt the force come over me again,
it went through my whole body, and extended to the tips of my toes.
feels very powerful, a strange feeling. and then i realised it“s the
same sort of feeling when i“m near to coming out of body.

There“s something powerful about the push. and makes me think, should
i use it sparingly, does it use up my energy to do it. but my
intuition seems to say to use it, to practice it.

Now, does anyone have a clue what I“m talking about? LOL

I feel these Ravenna exercises might be at least partly connected to
experiencing this. Perhaps the extra “weight“ I“m putting towards dreaming
is causing something to happen. I have the feeling this is something
we all will experience (possibly some of you already are experiencing
it?) quite soon if you“re not experiencing it already.

Concerning 2nd task, from October 21st - 29th:

Hi everyone,

I“m struggling more with this one.

I noticed results from when practicing the task in that in between
state (in between dreaming and awake, when you“ve just come round
from sleep). I noticed a subtle line extend it self horizontally,
when I focused peripherally on an indicator. But I feel this is more
due to suggestion (maybe that doesn“t matter, if it“s due to
suggestion?)

Do any of you find you can make subtle shapes in the darkness when
you close your eyes? Like a circle, or a specific symbol? It“s not
ultra clear, like a dream vision, but you can still make out the
shape you“ve intended to make. I have the feeling practicing this
might have a beneficial effect on our dreaming abilities.

Also, similarly when working with distance. E.g. Have any of you
checked out google earth? You need certain computer configurations to
run it, but if you can it“s well worth checking out (you can home in
on anywhere in the earth, and some places are much more detailed. It
works with satelite imagery. And we can check out where each other
lives). Anyway, the reason I mention it is because of the effect when
it homes in on a location. You“re viewing the globe, then it moves in
fast, closer and closer to the location you entered. That movement of
descending, moving closer and closer - well after viewing google
earth for only about 10 minutes, watching this closing in effect,
when I shut my eyes to do the task a bit later, I had that descending
effect in the darkness (I get this sometimes when just coming out of
a dream, where my awareness seems to have been in a navigating mode
and gives that moving effect from descending, where you are looking
down on things, to the landing position, where you on the same level
with things). So I reckon this google earth is good for inducing that
state where your awareness starts navigating in this way. But just
with our intent we should be able to get the same result, just the
google effect gives a kick start ;-)

Hi everyone,

regarding this part of 2nd task:

“learn to use the indicators of the interface with any
kind of methods . Manipulation of the indicator may be done using
different methods. I prefer to use the relationship(link) between
indicator and solar plexus.“

I was wondering, evidently there are different kinds of methods to
manipulate the indicators. Earlier, when just woke up, I tried
the “pushing outward force“ (the one you“re familiar with Argive) in
relation to the indicator, and got a more prominent horizontal line.
Maybe we just try different things to manipulate the indicators (the
glowing/dark little blobs)?

Has anyone noticed that sometimes the darkness behind closed eyes
starts to rotate, either clockwise or anti-clockwise?

I have a feeling that focusing on these different movements (e.g.
moving forwards, rotating, descending) and keeping aware of it can
assist us entering a dream consciously.

About the 2nd task. Ravenna says to manipulate those indicators (the
glowing specs/blobs of light, sometimes black blobs). She suggests
the method where you imagine you have some tuning device at the solar
plexus that is directly connected to the indicators. (Other methods
of manipulation are possible, like the pressure expanding from thrid
eye area that I“ve experimented with, I think we should explore as
many different ideas to manipulate them.

I“ve tried the solar plexus one and don“t get much results yet, but
I“ve started feeling a pressure at the solar plexus, and
pushed/turned that feeling slightly (as if the tuning dial) I saw a
vague line a couple of times. Also I“ve had this when I do that
pushing out sensation (which I“ve decided seems to be coming from
third eye area but involves the eyes somehow, and then pushes out to
whole body if I let it) when doing this I also noticed that an
indicator that was glowing, rotated slightly revealing a darker edge
and vice-versa for a darker indicator.

I feel I want to stay with this task a little longer, feels like I
haven“t explored it fully. What do you others think?

I used to rub my eyes as a child when I was bored, and watch all the visuals. Often it would go like a carpet pattern, and then sometimes it would be like looking down on the carpet in a living room and as if i was looking through a hole down onto the living room, and i could see people there. I would always have the carpet effect there when opened my eyes and my eyes would hurt. So I don“t like to push my eyes that much anymore because it hurts, pressure needs to lighten up more for best results. When I lie down and meditate, and observe darkness, I can see the visuals without even having to apply pressure on my eyes. It“s about allowing yourself to go silent and keep awareness of that falling asleep state
